JOURNAL-MAKING - NEW!

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
When: On Fridays
Alternate months, ie September and November for 2026
Venue: Caterham

A brand new group is due to start where a maximum of 6 people can meet to create their own Journal. These make such beautiful keepsakes or unique gifts. You could make one in time for Christmas! This could also match nicely with the new Poetry Writing group to save your favourite poems you write.

Please note that this is not about Journal Writing - it's about creating a book. Your book can be created to suit whatever purpose you have in mind for it once finished, ie images of memories, or to be written in at your own convenience, or to add photos at a later date.

Members will need to have had some previous experience of the techniques used in making a journal or a book.

The first session is planned for Friday, 18th September for the group to gather ideas and to begin their individual project.

The Group Leader is offering a 2-3 hour meeting alternate months, ie September and November 2026. Monday or Tuesday mornings could be considered as an alternative to Fridays if that suits the group as a whole.

If you are interested, please start collecting your stash now so you have enough equipment for the 2nd session which will take place in November:-

Scissors

Patterned papers and possibly writing papers

Glue / Double-sided tape

Amazon envelopes or similar are great for the journal cover, or possibly a strong cereal box

Needle and embroidery floss if wanted, for 3 hole pamphlet stitch to bind the journal.

Please contact Isabelle Holmwood to register your interest. Don’t delay as this group is very limited in numbers and could prove to be very popular.
