Wild Flower Walks

Status:Active, full but can join waiting list
Leader:
When: Monthly on Friday mornings
First Friday of the month between April and October

The group meets monthly on the first Friday of the month (April to October), starting at 10am.

We are fortunate to live in an area which boasts several areas of rare, wildflower rich, chalk grassland. The aim of the group is to see, and learn more about our stunning local flora. Each month we will be visiting different sites and spending at least a couple of hours exploring.

We walk at a slow pace for much of the time as we stop to look closely at the plants and see what we can identify. We also look at trees and shrubs, birds and insects, fungi - in fact any aspects of nature that catch our attention!

I would point out that many of the sites are on rough ground and often involve some steep hills, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed.
